Flamel is a French workshop dedicated to the design and manufacture of modern electric guitars.

Each instrument is produced in small batches, with particular attention paid to materials, components and ergonomics.

This page presents our work environment, our technical choices and the key manufacturing steps.

The workshop

The Flamel workshop is located in the heart of Brittany, France. It is here that the preparation, machining, assembly, finishing and adjustment operations, and final inspection of the instruments, are carried out.

Manufacturing & technical choices

Flamel guitars are based on consistent, durable and traceable material choices .

Drink

Corsican pine , a stable, resonant, and innovative French wood used in instrument making, or Korina maple necks , prized for their rigidity and precision.
Indian rosewood for the fingerboards, for its reliability, longevity, and traceability.
All Flamel bodies and necks are roasted to ensure optimal stability and tone.

Premium Component

The components are sourced from renowned manufacturers whose quality and consistency are beyond question: Gotoh for hardware, Bare Knuckle for pickups, Blacksmith for frets, Axlab for certain mechanical parts, and Graph Tech for nuts and saddles.
These choices guarantee precise setup , long-term durability , and tonal consistency, without compromising reliability.

Natural finishes

The finishes are intentionally natural , with limited use of chemicals. They are designed to preserve the feel , strength , and luster of the wood over time, while allowing the material to breathe.
This approach results in instruments that are robust, comfortable, and true to their sonic character, without unnecessary embellishments.

To complement this presentation, galleries of finishes and demonstration videos are available to understand the instruments in real-world situations.
